Latest finished work

I am sorry that I did not post anything yesterday. I simply did not have anything to say, but that is not the case today. I finished this quilt yesterday. It had been on the frame since Friday almost finished but I just ran out of energy to finish it until yesterday. This is the first T-shirt quilt that I have ever made. I am pleased with how it turned out. The photo of the quilt is not a great one as I couldn't get far enough away from it to get the whole thing in the picture. Here it is.

I laid it out on my queen sized bed so you can see that it fits it nicely. This is for our former pastor's oldest daughter. I have one to make for his wife and middle daughter yet. Now that I have the first one under my belt I hope that the next 2 will go faster. Anyways, here is a detail of the border quilting and a little of the main body quilting motif.

I did a molar feather in the outer border that is 6" wide and an echo swirl in the main body. I also added some ribbon candy in the 2 fabric strips that go down either side of the center panel of t-shirts. I think that added a lot of stability to the quilt as the t-shirts have a tendancy to be a little stretchier even with fusible interfacing on the backs of all of them. I also have a picture of the back of the quilt where the quilting shows up really nicely.

I also managed to get the house cleaned up nicely yesterday. It's a good thing too because I had a nice surprise when 2 dear friends from my old work place came to visit me last evening. It was a good day. I even went walking up at the school with a friend from church in the evening. I need a little accountability about the walking so she is helping me out and I am helping her out too because she needs the same motivation of someone counting on her to get up and out of the house. Win, win for both of us.

My goals for today are to get another customer quilt on the frame and get as far as possible on the quilting. I have lots to get done.

Be kind to yourself today and be grateful for your many blessings.

PS. It is my sweet daughter's birthday today and I wish her all the best in this year to come. I love you sweetheart. You are my Lindsey girl always.
