Long post of activities

As you might have noticed, there was no post yesterday. I had another appointment in Pittsburgh and it turned into another all day thing. More on that later. Lets just say that there is a lot to catch up on.

I played around with my techno geek stuff, not that I am in any way shape or form a techno geek (therefore the word played with). I still haven't figured out how to use the app Dropbox to simplify my computer life so I will stick to the old tried and try method for now. Friday afternoon I headed out shopping with Tina. We needed to get some supplies for our Saturday dyeing fun day, and the Jo-ann's in Niles had 5 bolts of the bamboo/cotton blend fabric that we use. Our original thought was to buy 3 bolts but between us we bought all 5. The sewing center cleaned her machines while we were shopping so we could take them home with us. That was a great bonus as it takes 2 hours of driving time along with the gas to drive there and back. We took our show and tell projects too which they all ohhed and awed over. On our way home we stopped at La Isla Mexican joint and ate our dinner out on the patio. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a great time.

Saturday morning, I got outside as it was pretty cool and finished leveling out my dirt piles. There is still some of the dirt to move as there is too much basically from the far left tree over. I will remove and gently curve the bed around to meet the front tree.
Once I showered and cooled off from all of that exertion I finished up my blue and white quilt top. I am going to dye a backing for it on Saturday. I am excited about getting it finished up and on my bed.
I have all the changes I want to do in the bedroom once this quilt is done all figured out in my head. Oh am I excited. That will be another reveal.
In the evening we went to a luau that was thrown by Wilhelm Winery.
They had a pig roast and lots of good food and a live band for entertainment. Here is a picture of the pig, minus the hide, they had already pulled it off to get ready to cut it up and serve it.
We even dressed appropriately. Here are Dan and Stephanie, Dan's shirt came from Hawaii and has the state fish on the back of it, so he might not look all Hawaiian but he did dress appropriately. He has that surfer dud look going on.
I have more pictures but haven't gotten them all downloaded and uploaded and edited so this will have to do.

Sunday after church, I needed a nap but when early evening came around Jeff and I got some major cleaning and organizing done. I don't have any pictures of the before of this room but let me just tell you it is 1000 times better now. This had become the junk room to throw anything and everything into when it didn't have a home.
We rearranged the furniture added a dresser and still this room seems more open now. It certainly helped that I took 8-10 tubs/boxes or bags up to the attic. This room is usable now.

So yesterday was another Pittsburgh day. We had to be on the road by 8:45 to get down there by 11:00 and if Jeff had not gone with me I wouldn't have made it till 12:00 probably. There was a major traffic jam at Zelienople that would have taken at least an hour to get through but he was able to take the exit and get around it. Thankfully, he was driving as that would have totally stressed me out. We made it down in time to stop at Panera's to get a quick bite to eat. Next began the sit and wait game. I had to have blood work drawn and IV inserted. They drew 26 tubes of blood, then I got to go downstairs to sit and wait to get a CAT scan of neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis done. More blood drawn (from the IV site) cause it wasn't drawn upstairs, so add another tube to that and we are up to 27. After several more hours of waiting the scan got done. We are now at 4:00 and Jeff walked to Boston Market while I was getting the scan and got us some lunch. After we quickly ate, we went back upstairs to check in for my dr's appointment. The RN coordinator came out and said that some of my labs were wacky and they wanted me to go get those ones redrawn. So back to the lab for 2 more tubes of blood. They had to stick me again for those as they had taken the IV out at that point. So in total I was up to 29 tubes of blood. It is a good thing that I am not anemic to begin with. So once again it was sit and wait to be seen by the doctor. At times I began to think that they had left and forgot we were still there as everything got really quiet. It was only when someone would wash there hands or open a door that we were sure that they were still there. Anyways after that long wait we saw the physician's assistant who checked me over pretty well and then the doctor came in to talk to us. Long story, not cut short, all the labs came back ok after the second draw and the CAT scan was clean. I am good for 6 more weeks. At 6 weeks I go back for more labs and another exam and 6 weeks after that I go through what I had done yesterday with a treatment added on top of everything. I am thinking that will need to be done over 2 days. It is just too much for one day. We got home just a few minutes before 8PM. What a day. I am glad it is over.

Enough about all of that. I hope you have a great day. Remember God is greater than anything you can face. Give it over to Him and He can give you rest. (Thank you, Lord, that I get my strength from you.)
